I receive my Freeview programmes from the Redruth transmitter. After numerous re-tuning of my receiver (which is inbuilt in my Sony TV)I am unable to receive any programmes listed under Com 5 Arquiva A. On retuning today the receiver found 96 channels where I have usually over 100.

H King: Your problem is most likely being caused by Redruths mux Ch52 having dropped under the level required to produce a picture, and so provided that you have not retuned for any reason select one of the programmes mentioned and carry out a signal strength on it, as even although the screen is blank the signal will still be there.
The other method is to go into the tuning menu / manual tune and enter mux Ch52 but do NOT follow this by pressing search or scan, because on most equipment as soon as Ch52 is entered the signal strength its being received at should be indicated.
After having noted the indications seen on Ch52 enter mux Ch48 (ITV3 etc) and compare its strength / quality indications with that obtained on Ch52.
Further advice dependant on the outcome of the test.
