Hi there,

I'm based in Taverham, Norfolk and have been experiencing issues with total loss of TV signal last week (Friday, Saturday 13th/14th June). The signal returned to normal on Sunday (15th) and has been fine since the weekend until last night (17th) and this morning (18th) it has totally gone again.

I have a roof aerial and although the signal we get here is on the weak side, we've never had trouble like this before. We've certainly not lost the main channels (BBC, ITV, C4) before.

I can't see that the issue is local as nothing in my setup has changed, roof aerial looks fine and all connections are in place.

At the weekend there were reports of weak signal on the Tacolneston transmitter, so I assumed that was related. However there are no such reports this week and I'm struggling to understand why I've got total loss of signal again. Can someone put my mind at rest and confirm that they are experiencing similar issues? Most of my neighbours have satellite dishes so it's difficult to find people using terrestrial these days!

Many thanks,

Mike

Our TV reception came back strong last night at about 9pm. Still working this morning. No mentions of problems elsewhere online. It's just weird!

Oh well, hopefully it'll stay ok for the football tonight!

Anyone else having problems on Taccy ........ all the channels on COM 4 & COM 5 are erroring & pixellating and the TV signal meter shows a slightly lower signal strength (7/10 to 8/10 rather than our normal 8/10 to 9/10 on these).
All the other channels are OK with zero reported errors and a sig strength of 9/10 to 10/10 which is normal.....all the HD channels are perfectly OK

Here's a very strange one!

Tonight, BBC One HD has no sound on the digital output, internal speaker is OK.

All other channels are OK.

The same feed (World Cup) on ITV HD is fine (not that we watched the boring WC!).

On switching to BBC One HD there's an audible click from the hi-fi amp which I suspect is being generated by the DAC we are using as it's getting a non standard signal.

TV & DAC are new.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

See my post above.

Tonight, BBC Four HD and Channel 4 HD have no digital audio; all else is as above.

What on earth is going on?

DenisW: Does this affect every mux or just certain ones? Can you receive Mustard TV from Norwich? If the problem is only with PSB1 (BBC channels) or PSB2 (Anglia, C4 etc) check that the receiver is actually tuned to Tacolneston frequencies C55 and C59, rather than frequencies for the local relay which might have been saved by mistake.

DenisW: In addition to that said by KMJ,Derby and having checked (as per his instructions) you are tuned to Tacolneston, does the poor reception happen at particular times such as when traffic is busiest?
