Mr C Gardner : Although STV Glasgow is indeed on LCN 23 in the programme listings, its transmitted by the L-GLW Mux on C51, and so if LCN 23 is not seen listed on the EPG listings its most likely due to you not receiving the L-GLW transmitter.

Michael

I carefully checked the listing at the top of the pages to see what was being shown as on LCN 23 - and saw nothing in the list. Hence my response.

Greetings folks,

Finding this site very helpful when setting up a USB TV tuner with my raspberry Pi, many thanks indeed.

Most channels are groovy however a couple don't seem to play, namely ITV4+1 and Motors TV. Any thoughts welcome!

robert montgopmery: If by "channel 23" you are referring to the local TV channel then one reason that someone using Black Hill cannot get it is because they aren't on the west side. Refer to the radiation pattern above with the red leave-shaped outline - this means that the signal is being beamed to the west only.

kenneth okane: Firstly, confirm that your TV is actually tuned to Black Hill for all channels and not Darvel (for some). Do this by viewing the signal strength screen on each of the following and checking the tuned UHF channel number (or frequency in MHz):

BBC One | Black Hill=C46 | Darvel=C22
STV | Black Hill=C43 | Darvel=C25
BBC One HD (if applicable) | Black Hill=C40
ITV3 | Black Hill=C41 | Darvel=C23
Pick | Black Hill=C44 | Darvel=C26
4music | Black Hill=C47 | Darvel=C29

If it only gives a readout in MHz then these values are given at the top of this page and at the top of that for Darvel.

If it turns out that one or more are tuned to Darvel then run the automatic tuning scan through with the aerial unplugged until 30%.

If it is tuned to Black Hill then as you appear to be using a communal aerial system it would appear that the problem might be with it, so it might be worth checking with neighbours to see if their reception is also affected.

kenneth okane: There might be another reason - you might have a break or weak point in the aerial system, and when it rains, water gets into the cabling, which messes up your reception.

MikeB, kenneth okane: As the aerial system appears to be a communal one then the exact reason is largely immaterial as in such circumstances Kenneth needs to report the fault to the party responsible for it in order to achieve rectification.
