For the past couple of weeks the reception on C26 (only) has been very poor on my Panasonic DVR-BWT720, with blockouts and occasional "no signal" displays. Nothing has changed in my setup apart from several retunes as I've tried to correct the problem. Strangely Ch3 (ITV) is fine, it's just all the other channels that are screwed up. Other TV's in the house work fine, and a replacement box works fine if I replace the Panny in the same position using the same cables.
Any ideas? I find it hard to believe my tuner is broken for just a few channels on 1 mux.

Andy Davis: You've not given us much to work with, since we have no idea of your location. However, something does make sense - your Panny has two sensitive tuners, which in the case of that mux might be, well, just too sensitive. Check the signal level, and perhaps look at this Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | Switchovers | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice could be that its just hitting the problem on that one mux, and the other boxes you used are just a bit less sensitive.

Much better today on my DVR-BWT720, still some blocking but no lost signal. Could be weather conditions, but then why just affecting this one box?

Andy Davis:
you may have a marginal signal at your home.
this would mean you are subject to potential issues, some tuners and brands perform better than others, for example a Sony has a great tuner and generally will work fine even with a poor reception, you could then put a different brand on the same connection and have nothing but problems.

Andy Davis: My first reply to your qustion strangely vanished, so here goes:
I actually originally suggested the exact opposite to jamie - I'm wondering if you signal is too strong, not too weak. You havn't given us much to work with, since we have no idea of your location, which is a huge help. However, since Panasonics have pretty sensitive tuners, it could be that on that mux, the tuners are just a little too stressed.
Have a look at 'Too much of a good thing' for more info.
I've got a Sony PVR, and it is very sensitive, like a Panasonic, but it seems more tolerant of high signal strength. I was reading 95% at one point and it barely flickered.

Hello there - up until this week beginning 13/10/14 we have received good reception on Freeview. Now we cannot receive any of the ITV Channels, including Drama, yet the reception is good on all the BBC Channels, including Movies4Men, True Movies and the Movie Channel. We cannot even receive the RT Channel, although we get good reception on the Adult Channels (which we do not want anyway and always delete). It would be appreciated if you could advise us how to remedy this problem. Why do we get good reception on certain channels and nothing on the others? We are served by the Crystal Palace transmitter. Kind regards

Daphne Goodey: Problems of the nature described are usually always rectified by carrying out a "manufacturers reset" on the TV or box, the procedure also known as "default setting" or "first time installation", all of those procedures having the same result of clearing the tuners memory of everything stored in it, including any glitches that may possibly have occurred.

I currently only seem to be able to receive two Channels on the Crystal Palace local Tv multiplex namely QVC Extra and POP. Now missing are 'London Live' and 'Chart Show'. I have three freeview boxes all fed from different aerials and I first noticed these missing channels had disappeared from all my EPG's over a week ago. All boxes have been subsequently rescanned on about three occasions and will again will only pick up two channels on this multiplex, QVC Extra and POP.
Have 'London Live' and 'Chart Show' been removed from Freeview?

I have recently (last few weeks) started to have problems with COM7 and my YouView/Humax receiver. BBC HD4 and BBC News HD are Spittingand pooping most of the time with the tuner saying 53% PSB3 is at 81% when Freeview HD first strated it was all good. Could it be 4G ? there is a mast close by but I think it's been there for a while. Or is it the house about 100yds away now covered in Scaffold in direct line of site of my arial and CP. !"!!! If so thats Christmas ruined.
Thanks John - Iver. Buckinghamshire

JohnR: The scaffolding would seem a possibility, yes.
A bodge, but may work: what's the signal like on COM7 from Hannington on C32?
