Iain Ferguson : Thanks for the advice, I will go for the aerial you suggested. Only question now can I install it in the loft.

Iain Ferguson:
It is possible to install an aerail in your loft providing you keep it well away from any water tanks up there and you do not have any metalised insulation as part of your loft insulation (several houses use a foam type of insulation that has an aluminium layer) as that will prevent the aerial from receiving the Freeview signals you want. So it is usually easier to install it external to the loft, most often with a short pole mounted on the chimney stack with the aerial carefylly aimed towards you preferred transmitter that gives the best signal. If you add your fuyll post code you should see a set f blue boxes under your posting. The 'digitaluk trade' option will detail which transmitters are suitable for your location and the direction to aim your aerial.

The last few days , BBC channels are distorted. Others are fine. Can view BBC via satellite but a TV in a sitting room is Freeview. Why is it just BBC?

A Buchanan: We have no way of answering that without information such as signal strength and quality. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind the TV. If it is affecting multiple TV that use the same aerial then check all the cables and connections as far as you can safely access between each TV and the aerial. Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc.

For the last two months there has been problems with reception, visual pixelation which then leads to no reception. Message then displays weak or no signal - check cables. All checked no probs and while I cannot receive programmes in real time I can play the BBC I player, amazon or anything through wifi. Proving nothing the matter with tv cables etc. My neighbours are having the same problems. We are with Blackhill transmitter and live in Stirling. What can I di to sort the problem

Margaret: Being able to watch iPlayer or Amazon over the internet doesn't prove that there is no problem with your aerial system which has nothing to do with wifi. Please provide a full postcode so that we can see your predicted coverage at your location.
