The symbol shows the location of the Craigkelly (Fife, Scotland) transmitter which serves 430,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Craigkelly (Fife, Scotland) mast?

Having just retuned, it looks like we now have:
(Unchanged)
PSB1 BBCA BBC SD - CH27
PSB2 D3+4 ITV, C4, C5 etc SD - CH24
PSB3 BBCB HD - CH21
(Changed)
Com4 SDN Drama, 5USA etc - CH29
Com5 ArqA Pick, Really, etc - CH31
Com6 ArqB 4Music, Yesterday etc - CH37
LEH Local - CH32
Com7 BBC News HD, 5USA+1 - CH55
Com8 BBC4 HD, CBeebies HD - CH56

And either my aerial is the wrong group, or the signal's very low on Com7/Com8 compared to before the change, because my PVR is showing 2 bars out of 10 for signal strength for them, and it used to be about 4 when they were on CH33, while my PSB3/BBCB signal strength still shows 5/10. Maybe I need a new aerial anyway if 5/10 is the best any of them show though!

John Robinson: Hey John

Thank you for the list. Unfortunately it seems whatever was done today has screwed me over, as I have lost more than half the channels I should be getting. Only getting 49 out of 111. I've manually retuned to those frequencies and despite my box telling me I've got 100% signal quality and 80-90% signal strength, no channels on many on the muxes.

These are the muxes that I have lost since the engineers did whatever they did:

29: 85% Str / 100% quality
31: 85% Str /100% quality
37: 84% / 100%
55: 84% / 100%
56: 83% / 100%

John Robinson: COM7 & COM8 are both broadcasting at 15.8kW according to Digital UK. If you don't already have a wideband aerial you may well find reception of COM7/8 more difficult as they are about as far out of band compared to most of the main muxes as it's possible to be.

Bidge: Make a note of any planned recordings, then unplug the aerial and do a full retune/rescan which should clear your channel list (if it doesn't, try a factory reset). Then reconnect the aerial and retune again which should give you a complete channel list with fresh tuning data.

Bidge: you probably need to do a full re-tune - maybe even a from-scratch install - to get your TV/box to clear out the channel list before you retune. Digital TV has guidance for various devices here: Digital UK | Retuning instructions

Thanks folks for the help and advice. Much appreciated.

Back up and running again. Turn it off, let its memory clear and then full automatic retune got me up and running again.

Looks like I have lost COM7 and COM8 since the Craigkelly clearance change. No amount of retuning is bringing them back. I only had a new aerial fitted a couple of years ago. Grrr.
