Channel 64 from Mendip is all over the place. Signal strength and quality is wavering between 10 and 6 with periods of block interference. All other channels solid at 10. Address BS22 area. Any ideas...

Alan Alder:

Your partial post code is insufficient for us to find out what the expected reception is like at your location, only a full post code is accepted by the Digital UK Coverage Checker.

As I use Mendip, I have checked all my channels and there are no problems at all. Freesports on LCN 64 is fine.

So you may have too much signal, indicated by all other channels showing a strength of 10, or else you have a poor connection in your aerial cables that is affecting just one frequency - it does happen. So please check all your aerial connections and ensure that your signal strength is between 60% and 85% on all multiplexes.

Alan Alder:

Ch.64 is on the COM8 mux, see Digital UK | Channel listings
Check to see is you are having similar problems with any other channels on the COM8 mux. If so, you may be suffering a touch of interference from Wenvoe.
Also check that your aerial is still intact and hasn't moved in the recent high winds.

ray bridgen: If it's happening at the same time every day then you may well be suffering with electrical interference caused by something in your home (or nearby) operating on a timer.

I am having problems receiving BBCA BBCB signals in BA9 9SF, this has been ever since we had the forced re-tune. I know I am not the only person having problems receiving BBC signals. How can I improve my signal?

Jonathan: Have you contacted the Freeview Advice Line? They can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable.

John Crispin:

Sony moved True Entertainment and some of their other channels to Local multiplexes, see Digital UK | Channel listings . In your location you should be able to get that along with the local Bristol TV channel on LCN 7 see Coverage Checker - Detailed View . If you haven't got that eithe,r you may not be receiving the Local multiplex on UHF30. Have you got a wideband/Group T orr Group K aerial? If you have an old group C/D aerial this may be why you are not getting it. As long as you don't have Cable or Satellite you can get free help with a new aerial, ring the Freeview Advice line 0808-100-0288 see Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview also see the FAQs on that page in case they may help.

My elderly dad contacted the Freeview helpline due to losing channels, which I let him know about.
He had no problems until the latest changes.

I thought he would have a new aerial fitted as he does not have satellite or cable but one was not fitted.
I told him to phone them again as one should have been fitted.
Seemed to be going round in circles, so in the end he paid for a new aerial himself.
Everything is back as it was.
