Thanks for ur reply. It's seems to be a new problem in a lot of areas as even my aerial supplier from Cavan has lost channels. Most of my clients receive their signal from Black mountain and I've had no problems with it - just the Brougher mountain clients.

Gregory Murphy:

Maybe it would be best to contact Freeview Advice. if this is an issue affecting several people, there could be an issue at the transmitter that they aren't aware of - eg. signal not radiating correctly in one direction.

It's never a good idea to post your phone number or email address on a public forum, it's likely to attract spammers, con artists, identity thieves and the like.
On the assumption that you mother is receiving from the Brougher Mountain transmitter (a full postcode would be needed to check), neither Freeview nor the BBC are currently reporting any faults.

I would check that her aerial seems intact and pointing in the correct direction and that the downlead looks undamaged (especially if it is old). Also check all the coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads are a common problem, try swapping/changing them. See what signal strengths and quality if any, there is for any of the multiplexes (groups of channels) shown in the TV's tuning section.
Problematic connections, water ingress etc. can seem to affect reception of just an individual or several multiplexes.

Henry :

I can't find any listings of either planned engineering or faults, so I would assume that this is more than likely to be due to current weather conditions causing interference to signals.
There is currently quite variable Tropospheric Propagation with the high pressure weather system and current predictions show that Northern Ireland can be affected at the moment and again possibly next mid-week. You won't necessarily be affected all the time or necessarily find all multiplexes affected at any given time.

RTE channels lost in Enniskillen for the last 2 weeks. My Panasonic TV only received channel 31 & sometimes 37 since then. When will full service from Brougher Mountain be restored - including RTE channels?

R F Toner: The posts above yours warn of engineering work affecting the Brougher Mountain transmitter over recent weeks. Unfortunately no details of the work are provided, nor is there a completion date given.

If you provide a full postcode we can check your predicted reception and see if we can advise anything that'll make you less vulnerable to issues when engineering work is taking place.
