Channels started to disappear around 9pm this evening, 20.4.16. We are in N. Lincs, Brigg area.Just switched the TV on again at 10.30 to get local late news and there are no channels to view at all. Every one says 'No Information' or 'No Signal' depending which menu you look at. It seems this has been a nightly occurence lately, reading several previous comments. Can any of your engineers please explain why we have no TV when it says on here that there are no faults?

H. Fawcett, et al, the tropospheric ducting forecast maps would suggest that numerous viewers residing in the Yorkshire / East areas are liable to be affected by reception problems related to the prevailing atmospheric conditions, unfortunately nothing can be done to rectify the this type problem except to wait until said conditions have passed over, which according to that seen should be around Saturday.

Rachel in Wiveliscombe, near Taunton: I can no longer receive Al-Jazeera English, as it has been moved to channel 108 which is not transmitted from Stockland Hill transmitter. Even though this is reported as having no problems, this is a big problem for me! The only advice I have found is to try and receive it from another transmitter by moving the aerial, but when I click on the list to see which one to try it does not come up. Also I doubt this would work as we are in a very hilly area - I think the next nearest one would be Mendips. Who can I appeal to? I feel very angry as the service before on channel 133 was perfect. Who has decided to change the availability of this station? Would it be resolved by going back to non HD reception? How come BBC channels can be watched on both non-HD and HD channels. It is very frustrating and wrong to discriminate in our choice of TV channels without any consultation. Thankyou.

Rachel Gundry:

If you give a full post code, you and I could look up where you live and hence suggest which transmitter might be worth trying. Mendip is a full service transmitter so tranmits most channels, but some commercial channels choose not to transmit from all the main transmitters and very, very few of the 'light' transmitters - it's a matter of cost/benefit for them.

Wiveliscombe is not a great place for signal reception but a lovely small town and well worth a visit IMHO.

As an aside, it is worth using the pages on this site for your current transmitter, this one is intended to coever issues with reception, etc from the Belmont transmitter in North Lincolnshire, between Louth and Lincoln. It is, therefore, not the ideal page to get information from for your area.
