Chris.SE & StevensOnln1:
I have taken the liberty to email Arqiva about the situation with Crystal Palace and Hannington both broadcasting on Channel 29 (538,00 MHz) and as the service areas overlap considerably, many viewers are unable to watch either or both of the That's TV services carried on that multiplex.
I await a response and will communicate what they say, if anything.

Usual initial response claiming that it is Ofcom's responsibility but at least they have passed my comment forward to their technical planning team. So I await their reaction.

Any one having problems with CH32 (com7) from Hannington tonight? I've got a very poor signal strength and non-existent signal quality.

Fixed it now - I took the aerial out of the TV, then pushed it back in, and CH32 was back. Strange how none of the other channels were affected.

Adrian Jones:This is a well known phenomenon as the small amount of corrosion on the contacts causes frequency selective attenuation. It has been known about since the day of VHF 405 line TV transmissions and even affected VHF radio. Your action of unplugging and re-inserting the aerial plug was the correct sollution and what would have been suggested by many contributors who have experience of correcting TV reception issues.

Why is it taking so long for information on the new local multipex for Reading to be added?

I live in Reading and receive Freeview from Hannington. I've just realised that Freeview channel 1, which has always been BBC 1 South is now showing BBC London. After a diligent search of the channels, I discovered BBC 1 South hiding amongst a load of radio channels at channel 800.
I'm not sure if this is a technical glitch or a policy change. If the latter, I cannot say I've seen any publicity about it, and it doesn't seem particularly sensible. I don't think of either Hannington or Reading being in London. If it is a glitch, is there anything I can do to sort it out.
Ps. If it helps, ITV on chsnnel 3 is still showing Meridien, rather than whatever the London equicalent is.
