Chris.SE and Tracy:

I'm not mixed up at all, just look at the ecpected reception shown on the Digital UK Coverage Checker for Tracy's post code.

I think Chris is correct . The checker shows that Tracy should get a strong signal from Sudbury on all channels . However Tacolneston and Sandy Heath transmitters are also in range though weaker signal. Its possible that Tracys aerial is pointing at the wrong transmitter .
I think I would check that the aerial is pointing at Sudbury . And manually tune the channels. Auto tuning may pick up the wrong transmitter. Use the channel numbers Chris mentions .

Hardy:

When I look at the coverage checker set to Tracy's post code it shows that only Sandy Heath has a good reception at her location, all the others have varying degrees of poor reception or none at all.

So I am correct. The only issue is whether she would gat the regional programmes she prefers.

Tracy et al:

Having had yet another look at the Digital UK Coverage checker set for the post code given, Sudbury is shiown as variable for SDN reception, Tacolnston is poor for the main 6 multiplexes but may be usable for COM7 and COM8. Sandy heath is good for the sic main multiplexes but not for COM7 or COM8, none of the other transmitters mentioned are of much value.

So is Tracy wants all the six main multiplexes then she should be using Sandy Heath, but if she is willing to have variable reception of SDN then Sudbury is an alternative though less than ideal.

Her location in Thurston End, Hawkedon, Bury St. Edmunds, IP29 4LQ does not appear to be ideal for reception of all channels at present. The alternative is to use Freesat instead.

Tracy & MikeP:

I'm afraid I still think Sudbury is your best transmitter and Hardy agree. I'm not sure how Mike gets variable reception for SDN (I still think he has his comments for Sudbury & Sandy Heath interchanged). Reception should be Good for all 6 muxes from Sudbury.
Make sure you are tuned to the UHF channels for the Sudbury muxes ie. - 44, 41, 47, 29, 31, 37
The channels you mentioned are on different multiplexes (muxes) ArqA, SDN, D3&4 & SDN in the prder you mentioned. So apart from carrying out the checks I mentioned in my previous post, look at your aerial to make sure it's still pointing in the correct direction.

Sue Jackson:

Apart from the movement of multiplexes to different UHF channels around the country (for which there are no more planned for Sudbury as part of the 700MHz clearance), unfortunately Broadcasters sometimes move their channels around to different LCN numbers and sometimes multiplexes.
This has happen twice recently. Back in May see Sony Channel changes | Freeview and most recently on 27th June see https://www.freeview.co.u…tml.

Unfortunately this means that you will no longer be able to get True Entertainment or True Movies as they've moved to Local muxes and there isn't one at Sudbury. Paramount Network & 5SELECT are both on the SDN multiplex.
You need to put your postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker to see what the predicted reception at your location is.
