Having watched both episodes of Spiral plus Sound On Sound from BBC4HD, together with The Film Programme and Click from BBC News HD, I think that the fault on com7 has now been rectified.

You don't have to change the postcode-just scroll to the bbc program in the 900's and click on record as before!

Glad that the fault on COM7 has been found and rectified. I can now watch BBC4HD and BBCNewsHD without the annoying dropouts, and without my wife blaming me for the problem!

I know the problem Mike. My wife was very intolerant of the drop outs despite the fact that they didn't occur that often. The soggy SD pictures didn't bother her at all though.

Only BBC One SD and BBC One HD National regions are in the 900s on Freesat including 973 (BBC One Scotland), 976 (BBC One Wales) and 978 (BBC One Nothern Ireland) but ITV/STV/UTV HD regions are not so you do have to change your postcode to receive these on Freesat or go to STB mode to get the SD versions of the ITV regions/STV and UTV and ITV+1, STV+1 and UTV+1.
ITV London SD is there on 977 though.

I've often wondered why Manchester needs to have two local multiplexes? Surely there's enough capacity on either LM or GIM for the services of one to be carried on the other and save two frequencies transmitting?
Why can't the GIM multiplex close with the services of Movies4Men +1, Heart TV, Capital TV and Fire Hit TV transferring to the LM multiplex and broadcast along with YourTV Manchester, Pop, and QVC Extra?
Could anyone explain this?
Thanks.

It's historical, the G-Man Multiplex, which was due to be closed, was for the now defunct Channel M service. It was taken over by Canis Media as a sort of test bed for channel operators to try out their channels cheaply on, they changed it from QPSK to 16QUAM to increase the number of services severely affecting its coverage (the LM Multiplex is QPSK). Few people watch either of them due to very poor programme content.

Mike: Community HD (109) closed down on March 12th, this programme is now only available on LCN63, a retune being required to update the EPG.

Transmitter engineering: My television keeps 'jumping'. Is this because Winter Hill are carrying out engineering works week beginning 23rd March 2015?
