Colin Wray: Can you provide a full postcode please? It's impossible to say what the problem might be without knowing where you are.

Briantist: My postcode is LU6 1RF, but we are shielded from Sandy by a local hill (there is some break through since they turned the wick up), and I have good multi-element aerials aimed at CP and Oxford which (surprisingly for CP) come in quite strongly (I had to attenuate the Oxford signal in analogue days to balance it with the CP signal).

Colin Wray: I doubt very much if the hill will stop the signal from Sandy Heath on C31 preventing your reception of C31 from Crystal Palace, in particular if you have more than one aerial.

paul galea: I think you might have the same problem as Colin Wray, in that the signal from Sandy Heath on C31 is now blocking the reception of the pre-switchover Freeview HD service.

I live at AL7 2HG and until recently have been receiving all Freeview HD channels via the Crystal Palace transmitter. Recordings for all requested Freeview HD programmes have failed over the last few weeks. We retuned both our HD TV and HD PVR today and have lost all Freeview HD programmes. Do you know why this has happened?

ronald bailey: You have got me a bit puzzled, as Hemel Hempstead isnt listed as providing an HD service until next April.
Are you sure you aren't receiving your signals from Sandy (Anglia)?

Can anyone tell me if Channel 30 is still being transmitted from Crystal Palace? This week there has been a lot of work taking place on the transmitter. I have reset and updated my Freeview box several times, but C30 just does not seem to exist. I have done an "auto update" and after that tried a manual update for C30, but I get a message "No signal". All other channels are fine. My Freeview box is a Technika (Tesco) about 1.5-2 years old. Any views would be appreciated.

Channel 30 is back now! :-) Not sure if it had anything to do with the engineering update above or just because I did yet another "cold" reset (Power off/on at the wall) on the freeview box. This seems to have worked several times before, but is probably not the healthiest thing for the electronics. Thanks again.
