When Arqiva chose to close COM8 some of its channels closed, some moved to COM7. (See my post on p307 Sunday, 21 June 2020 for background to this Crystal Palace (Greater London, England) Full Freeview transmitter | free and easy )
4HD+1 was one of the ones that closed.

If you have a Group A aerial I'm surprised that you ever managed to get a signal for COMs 7&8 (was C55&56) unless you are close to the transmitter. You could try a manual tune for C55. You really need a Group T/Wideband aerial, but unless you are doing the job yourself, you may not consider it worth the expenditure considering COM7 is a temporary multiplex.

As the last reminder is several pages back, some UHF channels updates may not have been done to the information at the top of the transmitter page. So -
In the order PSBs1-3, COMs4-7, Local multiplexes, the UHF channels are as follows
Crystal Palace C23, C26, C30, C25, C22, C28, C55, C35 (London Local mux).

Good afternoon. I live in the Hornchurch area of London. I have freeview and get 94 channels via an indoor aerial all the channels show reception as 90% + and often 100%. However I can never seem to get any of the Now' music channels. My indoor aerial has direct line of sight towards Crystal Palace and I live in an elevated position. My JVC Tv picks up the the 94 channels. But strangely my Panasonic PVR picks up 88 using the same aerial. Question: are the now TV stations on some kind of different frequency or do they just get broadcast with a weaker signal?

Sean : The only Now music channel available to you on Freeview is Now Xmas (temporarily renamed from Now 80s) which is on the COM7 multiplex, which is broadcast at Crystal Palace using DVB-T2 (so your TV needs to be able to receive HD channels) but at lower power than the main PSB and commercial multiplexes, as well as being on a higher frequency, with both factors making reception on an indoor aerial more difficult.

And, in the multiplex order BBCA/PSB1, D3&4/PSB2, BBCB HD/PSB3, SDN/COM4, ArqA/COM5, ArqB/COM6, COM7, Local multiplex, the UHF channels for Crystal Palace are as follows
C23, C26, C30, C25, C22, C28, C55, C35 (London Local mux).
Try a manual tune on C55 &/or C35. Autotune sometimes misses weaker signals.

I would like your advice on problems we have with Freeview etc from the Crystal Palace transmitter.
We live close to the SW Railway mainline track at Berrylands - Post code KT5 8EL.
Just recently moved to this address and now experiencing unusual TV reception interference everytime a train passes our house. Strangely this is mostly apparent with trains travelling in one direction towards London Waterloo.
Today (24 Jan2021) there are no trains running due to local enginerring works, and there has been no TV reception interference what so ever. Perfect reception all day.
The train line is approx. 200yds from where we live.

This is always one of the most trickiest problems to deal with, and not always successfully I'm sorry to say. The problem is not helped by the fact that the railway line is more or less on the line of sight to the transmitter at your location.
However, a number of questions to start. You say you've recently moved to this address, how recently?
It's possible the problem is related to the transmitter work at Crystal Palace that has been going on for the last 3 weeks. It's still listed for Planned Engineering with Possible weak signal which won't help.
Normally your area in general should get very good signals, leaving aside local interference.
Where is your aerial, and do you know what type it is, can you describe it all, does it have rods that are straight or look like X's? Does the back of the aerial look like a flat plate or is it made up of rods. If you can provide a link to a picture of one that looks similar, have a look around this site Aerials - A.T.V. How high up is the aerial in relation to the railway line, is it above the line or more in line with it?
How do your neighbours get on with reception, what aerials do they have?
It's possible when the transmitter work is complete, the problem may go away. If the aerial installation is old then it may have deteriorated which will increase the chances of problems such as interference.
The right type of aerial, mounted above the height of the railway line, might be a solution if it is an old aerial.

I recently purchased and installed a masthead amplifier splitter.
It was sold as having both 4G and 5G filter. Without paying too much attention as to what this means, I later discovered it filters out all the 700 and 800 MHz frequencies. The label on the splitter says it works on frequency channels 21 - 48.
After installing it and performing a retune, I realised I lost a few channels. After a bit of digging, I realised these were all the channels on COM7 and 8 (channel 55 and 56) which my splitter is now filtering out.
My question is, does anyone know when channels 55 and 56 will be turned off as I am hoping that BBC News HD and BBC4 HD get moved onto a frequency channel that I can actually receive now?

Mark-T: COM8 has already closed last year. There is no confirmed date for COM7 to close, however it's licence is due to expire in the middle of 2022 and could close sooner if the winner of the 700MHz centre gap SDL spectrum (now due to be auctioned by Ofcom next month) gives 3 months notice, although this seems unlikely as there are currently no phones or other 5G devices available which support the 700MHz SDL band, so it seems likely that COM7 will be around for another year or so.
Nothing has been announced yet regarding what will happen to BBC Four HD (or any other channels) when COM7 eventually closes.
