Gary : Most indoor aerials are little more than a piece of wire sticking out of an amplifier and will only give good reception if you are close to the transmitter. At 28km away you need a decent rooftop aerial (you may get away with one in the loft) for reliable reception.

I live in the Dundrod area. The nearest transmitter for Freeview is Divis. I am told Black Mountain transmits RTE 1 and 2 and TG4 on Freeview but I cannot pick the up on my TV. I have heard it is possible to get a Freeview+ settop box to connect to the TV to enable to get these channels. Does anyone know if this is true and if so where can i get one? Thanks

JIM MCKEOWN: Do you receive the HD channels on 101-105? If not, you need a box that has the Freeview HD logo (Freeview+ indicates a set top box with a hard drive to make/store recordings).

brianbaron: There are no faults showing for either the Divis or Banbridge transmitters. Perhaps the storm has moved or damaged your aerial. Is it still pointing the in the same direction as the aerials on neighbouring properties?

Paul Rice:
Further to that said by Amanda Hughenkis, look at the blue digitaluk trade box under your posting. That leads you to Coverage Checker - Detailed View which shows you are 7 km away from the Divis transmitter. Please ensure that your signal strength is between 60% and 85%, more will cause your problems.
