Gary: You can check the links below your question - your 17km from the transmitter. So who knows? Indoor aerials aren't all that great, but if she's high up, might do. But there are no certainties. If she's in a flat, there is often a communal system, which might be more useful.

Television in Edinburgh EH68SQ keeps going distorted and like the television signal is not working. Reset the televisions, unpluggged them and returned them and still getting problems across every channel.. Its been like this around 5 days since we had all that snow. Speaking to some neighbours and 3 other places in my building are having the same problems. So something is not right.

Darren: Resetting and retuning will never fix a problem with a bad signal as you are just deleting all of your channels and searching for them again. If your neighbours are having the same problem and you are all using the same communal aerial system then you need to report it to whoever is responsible for maintenance so that they can send someone to fix it.

I have just set-up a new PVR (Humax FVP-5000T) as my previous one from EchoStar (HDT-610R) died yesterday. The new PVR is not picking up a couple of channels that the other one did (STV Local and TruTV, possibly others that I haven't noticed are gone as well).

Any ideas why this is and how I can get those channels (specially TruTV)?

Postcode area EH48 1RH

Thank you for time.

Bidge: The channels you mention are on the local multiplex. The Digital UK postcode checker predicts that you could get good reception from both Black Hill and Craigkelly transmitters for the main muxes, however the local mux from Craigkelly will be better than Black Hill when the broadcast frequencies change later this year. If your Humax has a manual tuning function, try manual tuning on UHF channel 30 if your aerial is pointed to Craigkelly (this carries the Edinburgh news on STV) or 51 if you're using Black Hill (carries Glasgow news on STV).

StevensOnln1: Thank you mate

My aerial is actually pointed at Blackhill, but on the manual tuning function its the Craigkelly UHF frequency that I am getting intermittent signal flashes from, nothing from Blackhill at all.

Still unable to to actually get the channels. Trying very hard to grab it when the strength and quality bar show any reception, but its only appearing for 0.5 - 3.0 secs at most every 10 minutes or so.

May need to get aerial engineer out, either for a new aerial or to reposition this one so its getting maximum signal out of Craigkelly.

~Thank you again.

We are constantly getting a (No Data or Data Service) Weak signal for the past couple of weeks across all channels.

Our aerials are on the roof.

Please advise as we're missing the World cup as well as soaps.
