I have a question about how Single-Frequency Networks operate, relating to DAB reception. If you live in an area covered by two or more DAB transmitters, do the signals 'augment' each other?
Visiting Dorset recently, for FM reception, I was on the edge of coverage from Rowridge, Wenvoe and North Hessary Tor.
The DAB reception was good and solid. Obviously, with FM you have to tune to a specific transmitter, and you may be faced with a choice of three or more equally-poor choices.
If the example is applied to DAB reception, do the three or more 'weak' signals complement each other? Or doesn't it make any difference?

On the main DAB Multiplexes page it would be better to have the frequency codes listed next to the multiplexes rather than relying on colour coding. (yes, I'm colour blind)
In addition, you could have a second list with multiplexes grouped by frequency.

I found your website from a Google search for the BBC National DAB map, and your map is really useful since it seems to show coverage from most individual sites which is very useful. Your BBC National multiplex map seems current since it shows Calver Peak as running. However I note that other pages on your site seem to show old information as this site is shown as forthcoming (it's been on air now for 6 months or so). Maybe you could check and update the sites where possible?

Just to clarify as I can't modify my last post, when I click on your link from the navigation bar, Radio > DAB Transmitters, the page which is shown (Map of all DAB transmitters) is the one which is showing outdated information. For instance Ladder Hill and Calver Peak, both of which are running and are correctly shown as such on your BBC National DAB Multiplex map, are shown as Coming Soon.

I can tune into the SDL national channels on my DAB car radio but I cannot tune into the BBC national channels.

Brian Taylor: Does your car radio have a manual tune function? If so try scanning block 12B (or 225.6MHz). If that doesn't find the BBC stations, let us know the make/model of radio and your location,

StevensOnln1: Thank you for your interest. My radio does not have a manual tune function. It is a Beat, Model:BEAT390. I have tuned into 46 stations: 7 on 10C; 8 on 10D; 17 on 11A and 14 on 11B. I am in Maidenhead Berkshire.
Any help would be appreciated.

Brian Taylor: Hi, Brian. I would advise that you check in your instruction manual that the VHF Band III Block 12B is covered by your Beat 390. The frequency range for this block is 224.880 to 226.416, centre frequency, 225.648 Megahertz. Furthermore is your Beat 390 manufactured for the UK market? Richard, Norwich.

Thank you for responding.
Yes, the Beat 390 is manufactured for the UK market.
DAB frequency range is 174-240 MHZ.
I bought the radio in February 2015. Initially it tuned into the BBC national channels. Then in March 2016 (just less than a month after the warranty ran out) I started the engine whilst the radio was playing one of the BBC channels and lost all the channels I had tuned into. Since then I have not been able to tune into any of the BBC national channels. I have tried all the obvious things like resetting the unit.
Do you think it's possible that a power surge could have compromised the tuner?

Brian Taylor: Hi, Brian. It is possible that a power surge has disrupted the tuning capacity of your car DAB radio. It is unfortunate that the set is now out of warranty, but if I were you, I would contact the manufacturer or at least the supplier anyway, as they may be willing to make some gesture that will assist you, such as a reduced cost repair or a discount on a replacement because you didn't intentionally start the engine whilst a BBC channel was playing. Just my suggestion, anyway! Richard.
