As I say dave always been fine here after switch over in all weathers. it seems to have sorted itself out now but I have found out the the Wrekin also shares the same frequency,s with some of Emley mores, So granted every now and again it might affect the signal.

oh and just in case you were wondering Dave Lindsay. The most reliable and usable all the time are the ITv BBC and The HD multiplex here In Aspull Wigan Wn2 1sz. The others are virtually none existent. If you look at the coverage map above there are some areas over this side of the Pennines that are in bright green for strong signal strength.

michael: Emley's COMs ("the others" you refer to) are co-channel with those of Moel-y-Parc, which comes in quite well across the North West of England.
The coverage map on this site assumes that the signal is radiated equally in all directions as the powers that be won't realise the radiation patterns that would tell us whether this is the case or not.

michael: If you click on the Digital UK tradeview at the right hand side of your posting you will no doubt notice that Emley Moor is not even mentioned as being as possibility for reception, this being simply because that its "not" considered as being a viable proposition because of the signal blocking problem referred to by Dave Lindsay.
The fact that you have been receiving it in a fashion is "only" (apart from luck) through a combination of signal bending (diffraction) and reflection, both of these being most vulnerable to seasonal changes in atmospheric conditions as well as the state of the terrain, e.g: wet or dry which alters the reflective component.
The other point being, that the changes referred to are not by any means constant and can (and do) change from year to year, and so this fact must "always" be taken into consideration.
Needless to say I do not find anything unusual by what you have reported, as its something which would be expected in situations such as yours.

We live in York and on a Panasonic television we cannot receive Yorkshire tv or local BBC programmes the television automatically tunes itself to Tyne Tees and north east regional programmes. All other tv's in the house from the same aeriel are ok. Any suggestions on how to retune our TV back to Yorkshire please. Thanks

Jeb Scrafton: Try having the aerial lead out for the first 30% of the scan (or up to scanning of UHF channel 30 if it gives channel numbers) so it doesn't 'see' the Bilsdale Public Service (PSB) channels, which carry regional programmes.
Once you've done this, bring up the signal strength screen on BBC One and it should say it is tuned to UHF channel 47 for Emley Moor. Do likewise for ITV and it should be tuned to C44.
The only thing to be aware of is that Bilsdale's Commercial (COM) channels are in the 40s and therefore interleaved with the wanted channels of Emley Moor. For that reason check that they are tuned to Emley and not Bilsdale.
ITV3 Emley=C51 Bilsdale=C43
Pick TV Emley=C52 Bilsdale=C46
Film4 Emley=C48 Bilsdale=C40

Parts of Keighley are having problems with mux 49 The BER is bouncing, & showing large error rate

G Higgins: Presumably this is in reference to PSB1 (BBCA) from Keighley. Possible interference from Winter Hill maybe.

Do you know why my Youview STB does not tune in any of the top-up TV channels or the BT Sports [BT1, BT2,& ESPN etc]channels. All my TV's tune all the channels in.
All my signals are very good and I can see the Emley Moor TV T/x from my house.

Terry Mahon: youview box will not show subscription channels.
